USDA Refinance Loan - Supporting Document Requirements

Date: February 16, 2013

When submitting your USDA Refinance Loan paperwork one of the surprising facts is that the USDA Guaranteed Underwriting System or GUS isnt programmed to identify whether or not the loan is currently guaranteed by USDA. As such the borrower must include the following documentation when completing their loan request:

Recent mortgage payment coupon
From when you purchased the house copies of the:
Mortgage Note (usually a 3 page document on printed on letter size paper)
HUD-1 Settlement Statement (usually a 3 or 4 page document printed on legal size paper)

These documents will identify that in process of originating the initial loan, included in the original set of fees was a USDA Guarantee Fee. Other documentation requirements include:

Two most recent paystubs (four paystubs if paid weekly)
W-2 for 2011 and 2012
Statements covering transactions for the past two months for all checking/savings accounts
Front & back - of driver's license and social security card or passport
Annual homeowner insurance statement or contact information for your homeowner insurance agent
